PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Effective project Management is a crucial part in the Toy manufacturing industry to ensure each item follows the critical path from the outset and meets the required launch date. Generally there is more than one component part to a toy and this can then mean multiple suppliers. It is important to ensure that all suppliers are aware of the deadline dates and that they deliver on time to complete production for shipment. The factory must also agree to realistic dates that can be realistically met that also includes actions such as third party testing and quality control processes and procedures.
Time plays a key role in managing projects, especially when production is in another country or time zone as delays to communication (i.e. replying to emails) could result in production delays and knock on effects for the entire project.
Production planning is a critical process to ensure affective and successful manufacturing. When effective all areas of the production process are aligned, enabling manufacturing to flow and be managed in accordance with supply and demand.
